Social Justice Team Announcement

Join us to learn more about this year's Florida Constitutional Amendments

September 14, 2024, 2:00 p.m.

 

What do you know about the six proposed Florida Constitutional amendments on the November 5 ballot?  We are partnering with the Charlotte Chapter of the League of Women Voters and are presenting a public forum to for voters wilearn more about the six proposed Florida Constitutional amendments on the November 5 ballot. The event will be held at the church beginning at 2 p.m. Handouts will be available.  Learn about the each amendment's path to the ballot, historical context where relevant, what is in each amendment, and what result a yes or no vote is likely to produce. Presenter is Jean Finks of the LWV's speaker's bureau.

 

If you are new to Florida, we will have a primer on voting in Florida for any new voters.(after we see if any are present).  Remember, the last day to register or change your party affiliation is October 7, 2024.  Have you requested a vote by mail ballot?  If so, be sure to read the directions to assure your vote is counted.

As of January 23, 2022, our church has become a Creation Justice Church.  Our goal is not only to cherish Creation, the land, and the earth itself, but also to restore living in balance with all of Creation.  To read more about this step that the church has taken, click here.
